13(a) Visa Requirements:
Hi everyone! I just want to check two things about the 13(a) visa requirements.

1. Is proof of financial ability required?

2. Is proof that the foreign husband and the Filipino wife live together required?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has applied recently. Thanks! 😊

If you apply from abroad, you have to prove both. If you apply inside the Philippines, they don't ask about financial capacity, and proof of living together is only needed when converting to permanent residency in the second year.

The lawyer who interviewed my wife and me asked roughly how much I earn per month and also asked if we had wedding photos. My lovely wife brought the best one from our wedding photos, printed out. I think it took less than 15 minutes. We also talked about how we met. All of this happened at the BI building in Manila.

You need to prove that you can support yourself financially, and that you are married and in a genuine relationship.
