I searched but couldn't find the information I need. My 13A has a few months left before its 5-year term expires, and I'll need to renew it for another 5 years soon. If I go to the BI main office in Manila early in the morning with all the required documents and copies, how long does it take to finish, including the passport stamp and the new ACR card? Can it be done the same day, or does it take a few days?

One answer says the 13A itself doesn't expire, and what you renew every 5 years is the ACR card. Some people say that if you have all your documents, it can be processed the same day at the main office, but the new card reportedly took anywhere from a week to a month, or up to 3 months at the longest. There are also cases where additional documents, like the original receipt, were required.

You're not renewing the visa, just the card. I did it two weeks ago at the Main Office. I got there at 7 AM and was done by 7:45. You need your passport (+ copy), your ACR-I card (+ copy), a copy of the passport page showing your most recent entry record, and two forms from the Immigration website, all filled out and brought in an administrative folder. I paid 4,200 pesos. They don't stamp your passport. The new card isn't ready yet. They said a week, but the person who does the printing is on vacation. They said he'll be back next week.

The 13A doesn't expire. It's the ACR that expires every 5 years. I haven't used the Main Office, but for all the ACRs I've gotten over the years (back on a tourist visa and with the 13A), it always took 3 months to get the new card. 😎🍹🏝️

I've done the 5-year renewal, and it's actually the ACR card you're renewing, not the visa. I did it last year, and if you have all your documents, it takes one day, and then you go back about a month later to pick up the card. I had to go back a few times because they said I needed a barangay clearance for my change of address. I had already filed the address change with the BI, but Manila said I still needed it. That made no sense, and there were a few other things too. Anyway, if your documents are all in order, in their view that is, it's a one-day job.

Instead of flying to Manila, I understand you can do it through the immigration officer at the Dipolog city hall. It'll take some time, but that's fine, and you save the cost and time of going to Manila. I renewed my ACR card there
