13(a) Visa and ACR
Hello, I'd like to ask for advice about my 13(a) immigrant visa.
I left the Philippines in February 2025 without telling my Filipino wife, and I came back in July 2026 without her knowing. Since I left, we have not been in contact, and we are now living separately.
My ACR I-Card expired in April 2026, and I have not yet completed the 2026 annual report. I still have the 13(a) visa, though.
My questions are as follows:
Can I still leave the Philippines and re-enter without any problems?
Could the expired ACR I-Card and my failure to file the annual report cause problems at the airport when I leave or re-enter?
Could living separately from my Filipino wife and having no contact with her affect the validity of my 13(a) visa or my ability to re-enter?
Has anyone been in a similar situation, or does anyone know the current Bureau of Immigration (BI) rules?
I would really appreciate any advice or information based on personal experience. Thank you!
You can't hold a 13A visa if you're not living together. Yes, if you don't fix your visa status first, you'll run into problems when you leave the country. You need to switch to a tourist visa and get a tourist ACR card. If what you're saying is true, you're currently overstaying illegally. Good luck, but you brought this on yourself.
You'll be fine if you do this. Do your annual report and renew your card. You can do it at the Intramuros Immigration Office. They don't track marital status, and a spouse's signature isn't required. But trying to leave without doing your annual check-in and with an expired card is just asking for trouble. Sort it out first before you go. If you just do the annual check-in, you should be fine for another five years.
You ran away from your wife without even having the guts to say a word, you didn't do your annual report either, and now what do you want? Go to the airport. I hope your wife reports you to Immigration and one irresponsible person in this town is gone.
