I'm a professional translator. Below is the English translation of the community post.
For anyone who has brought over 110V tools or appliances, or wants to, let me share how I made them usable. Here the voltage is 220V. You'll need a step-down transformer, a breaker box, and a skilled electrician to connect everything to the service line. We have two buildings, a house and a sewing shop, so we needed two step-down transformers, one for each building. I found the transformers on Shopee, and the electrician bought the breaker box and the rest of the electrical materials at a local electrical supply store. I've written down all the costs, but the list is too long to post here. One step-down unit from Shopee was 13,000 pesos. In my view, if you have several 110V tools or appliances, this is the only way to go. We use Milwaukee tools, a Ninja blender, an air fryer, and a hand mixer, and this setup works very well. And yes, it wasn't cheap. When we moved here, we had to either auction everything off and buy it all again (at a big loss) or ship it by boat. I don't regret that decision.
I understand why you're doing that. I was thinking the same thing, but in the end I sold most of my tools in the US. Still, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of my Milwaukee cordless tools, because the chargers need 110V. I see you have a voltage regulator in your photo, and it works really well for 110V chargers. I use several voltage regulators, and they all have 110V outlets, so for a few 110V devices like my PS3 (I know it's old), I just plug them into the voltage regulator that powers my 220V TV and audio equipment.
My grandpa used to plug his laptop and phone chargers into hotel outlets hundreds of times without any problem, so he'd be shocked by this post. What do you mean?
Does the transformer also act as an AVR? If so, that's a big plus.
I'm thinking about this too. I'm planning to bring a 2kW Yamaha generator, drained of fuel, in a Balikbayan box, and run it when I need to power my tools and appliances.
