Are there any veterans with a 100% disability rating who live in a city other than Cebu or Manila? How do you receive treatment for a disability related to military service?
Register with the VA FMP (Foreign Medical Program). You'll receive a letter from the VA listing your service-connected conditions. Some hospitals and clinics will accept that letter and bill the VA for you. If they won't, you can pay up front and then submit a reimbursement claim to the VA. TriCare Overseas covers anything not related to your military service. Same deal there: you pay first and file for reimbursement later. You'll need to cancel your TriCare Prime enrollment in the US and enroll in TriCare Overseas instead.
What about retirees and TriCare? Has anyone figured out how it works in the Philippines? Where do US Embassy staff in the Philippines get their medical care?
The VA hospital is in Manila.
I live in Davao City and fly all the way to Manila for treatment... round-trip airfare is fairly cheap, though.
