Location & How to Get There — Located on the coast of Barangay Nagbalayong, Morong, Bataan. From Angeles and Clark, you can pass through Subic and head down to Morong, or go via Dinalupihan and Balanga. It is a 30 to 40-minute drive from Las Casas (Bagac). For public transportation, take a bus to Balanga, then transfer to a minibus and a tricycle bound for Morong.
What to Expect — Run by local community conservationists (the Bataan Pawikan Guardians) who used to harvest turtle eggs but transitioned into protectors, this center is operated solely through visitor donations without government support. They relocate and hatch eggs found on the beach during the nesting season from September to January, and release baby turtles into the sea from November to February (sometimes lasting until mid-March). The Pawikan Festival is held every November.
Fees — The entrance fee is ₱20 per person, and releasing a baby turtle requires a donation of ₱50 per turtle (based on blogs and reviews). According to the Morong municipal government guide, kayak rentals are ₱200 per hour, and group accommodations are ₱2,500 for 2–4 people, ₱3,500 for 10 people, and ₱4,500 for 16 people. However, since these postings are old, on-site verification is needed.
Tips for Visitors — Releases usually take place in the early morning or late afternoon, and if there are no hatched turtles, there will be no release. To avoid a wasted trip, call or text the person in charge (+63 921 630 2842) to check before setting off. Mobile phone signals tend to be weak in Morong. Since you will be walking on the sand, bring aqua shoes and a towel, and do not touch the baby turtles with your hands.
