A Korean restaurant right in the middle of Korea Town on Friendship Highway in Angeles, known for its galbi-jjim (braised short ribs) and samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup).
Google rating: 4.2.
The Story of the Restaurant
"ManChoo Friendship" means "late autumn," and it is a Korean restaurant that has held its place in Korea Town for a long time. A 2019 blog post says it had been open for about 8 to 9 years, which suggests it started around 2010. A post from around 2014 mentions that food reviews improved significantly after the owner changed. There was once a branch on the 1st floor of the Galaxy Hotel on Walking Street, but it is no longer operating. In 2018 and 2019, it was also known for unlimited refills of samgyeopsal (pork belly) and Korean dishes. Today it is a general Korean restaurant run by a Korean owner, and reviews say the same owner has been running it since before the pandemic.
Space and Atmosphere
The red sign stands out, and inside, a long wood-toned hall stretches back with wall-side sofa seating and long tables for 6 to 8 people. There are about three private rooms, which are popular for group gatherings such as golf teams, family get-togethers, and company dinners. Rooms are only available when vacant, so it is best to reserve in advance. Korean TV programs play in the restaurant, and free Wi-Fi is available.
Popular Menu Items
The most recommended dishes in reviews are galbi-jjim (both regular beef short rib and spicy galbi-jjim) and herbal or abalone samgyetang. The menu has about 50 Korean dishes, including boyangsik-style items such as goat soup (S ₱500) and galbitang, doenjang and kimchi jjigae (₱330), jeyuk-bokkeum and ojingeo bulgogi, mixed jeon (₱700) and seafood pajeon (₱450). Mango and strawberry shakes (₱150) and avocado shakes are also popular.
Tips for Visiting
If you order two or more bowls of samgyetang, you can ask them to debone the chicken into a large pot. Baeksuk can be ordered by phone in advance so you can eat without waiting. Portions are generous, and leftovers can be taken home in takeout containers. Some reviews say parking in front of the shop is difficult because it is on a main road, so Grab or taxi is more convenient. The restaurant is not listed on Foodpanda (confirmed October 2026), and GrabFood could not be confirmed, so for delivery orders it is best to ask the restaurant directly.
How to Get There
It is located in the middle of Korea Town on Friendship Highway, in the PH Prosperity Building between the BDO Friendship branch and a 7-Eleven (within 1 minute on foot from BDO). It is about 10 to 15 minutes by car from Clark International Airport, and it is a convenient stop after a round at Clark golf courses such as Sun Valley and Mimosa.
Budget per Person
A single meal such as jjigae or bibimbap costs about ₱330 to 400. If you share several dishes such as jjim and jeon and have a drink, expect roughly ₱600 to 900 per person (based on the menu as of September 2025, which may have changed).
Recommended For
It suits people who need a restorative meal or a hangover cure after a golf round, golf teams and families who need a private room, and travelers and long-term residents who miss a proper Korean meal because local food does not agree with them.
Summary of Online Reviews
Summarizing 12 Naver blog reviews (2022 to 2026, mostly introductory posts from travel agencies and local businesses), the most common comment is that the taste is consistent, from samgyetang and galbi-jjim to basic side dishes such as kkakdugi. The next most common point is that the private rooms and large hall make group meals easy. Several reviews say the staff are friendly and cheerful. Some note that spicy galbi-jjim uses backbone cuts rather than beef short ribs, and others say galbitang has little meat.
