Google rating: 3.9.
Mactan Island Golf Club is located inside the Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island.
Because it is a golf course inside a military base, access may be restricted, requiring confirmation prior to a visit. According to golf travel package guides, you must bring your passport and ID when entering.
This course is sold by various travel agencies as golf packages that bundle caddies, guides, and hotel transfers. Course details such as the number of holes vary by source, so it is best to check directly with the golf course for accurate information.
As there are no official public rates available, you must contact the golf course to inquire about fees.
Summary of Internet Reviews
Synthesizing four Naver Blog posts (from 2022 to 2026, consisting of 1 personal review, 1 expat course guide, and 2 travel agency posts), a common mention is that because the course is right next to the airport runway, golfers can closely watch airplanes taking off and landing during their round. Many people walk the course without a cart since it is flat, but several reviews note that it should not be underestimated as a short course due to the elevated raised greens, hazards, and trees scattered throughout. Its proximity to accommodations in Mactan or downtown Cebu makes it a great option to squeeze a half-day round into your schedule, and some posts mention that local expats frequently use it along with the driving range. Some reviews state that the course layout is monotonous, the locker rooms and shower facilities are outdated, and carts may occasionally be in short supply.
