Smart seems to have better signal coverage across the Philippines. If you have two phones, get both Smart and Globe.

I'd recommend Smart because of their Magic Data promo. Data that never expires.

I've had both Globe and Smart. I found Smart frustrating. With Globe I have a postpaid plan that renews every month. I've been using it for two and a half years and it's been good. I use their Wi-Fi too. Or you can just buy any SIM card and buy data for it. But personally I'd recommend Globe. Just go to any of their stores. You can prepay for however many gigabytes you think you'll need for a month. Mine is set to 20 GB a month. If you turn off your data when you're on Wi-Fi, you won't use any data, because you'll be calling and browsing over Wi-Fi.

If you have T-Mobile, get the plan that's 75 dollars extra a month, and use Wi-Fi calling and Wi-Fi whenever you can — it should last you the whole month. When I turn on my data, my phone connects straight to global ph. Or just get a Smart SIM card; I believe unlimited is about 45 extra a month

I use the Dito app. I get better coverage than with Globe. They have unlimited plans, and both physical SIMs and eSIMs. It's super easy and user-friendly. You should be able to walk into any mall and find a kiosk that can help you. They have them at the airport too when you land.
