Single expats: if you want to stay single, why stay in the Philippines?

I'm genuinely curious. Most expats are here for the women. They want a second shot at a good marriage. I mean, to me, that's the only thing that makes the Philippines worth it.

Vietnam and Thailand have better infrastructure for less money.

And we all know that as long as you shower every day, you can find a partner here in the Philippines, so if you're single, it's by choice. I'm just curious: then why stay here?

So you're saying the ONLY reason to be in the Philippines is to find someone to marry. No wonder these countries are tightening their immigration laws. Disgusting.

Some people may like the easy tourist visa, English being an official language, no tax on foreign-sourced income, stuff like that. And some don't want to get married but stick with a Filipina girlfriend who might have a hard time staying long in the West.

Cheap cost of living. You can live like a god for peanuts.

OP, why do you spend so much time thinking about single men?

Do you get out much? Get a motorbike and go explore Palawan, Bohol, Cebu. Even Negros. Beaches, waterfalls, mountains, tropical paradise. Sure, Vietnam has those things, but they're far more spread out. Thailand has them too, but it's so commercialized now. I've done motorbike road trips in all three countries.
