A question for those with more experience than me. I'm having trouble with my landlord. My fridge broke. He had a repairman come look at it, and he said it needed a new part. They ordered it. But when I ask for an update, he doesn't respond. I've been without a fridge for almost 2 months now. He also offered to bring over a working fridge from one of his other units to replace it, but again, no response when I ask how that's going. What are my options? Thanks in advance.

Just buy one

Go buy one and deduct it from your rent

Move out

Move out.. a fridge is a top-priority necessity. He's been stalling. He could have replaced it within 2-3 days. Find a better place. Then he'll realize he lost a valuable tenant.

Stop paying rent. Then he'll have to respond

Fix it, deduct it

Send him a message saying you're fixing the fridge and will deduct the parts from your next rent. He'll probably reply 'okay' within minutes, since he can't afford the new part 😁 Either way, you'll get a reply

I've discovered certain luxuries in the Philippines. Hot water, days without a stomach bug, AC that works, stretches of time without brownouts, and.... refrigerators. But... I'm still grateful to be here.
