Please be kind in the comments. Is it common for foreign men to be afraid we'll leave them behind?

Hi! I'm a 26-year-old woman and my boyfriend is 27. I'm from the Philippines, and this morning my long-distance boyfriend and I were talking about being the provider. During our call, he started sharing some anxious thoughts and worries about our future.

I don't get it. What do you mean by him being the provider when you also mention you have a stable job? Why is he talking about providing if you're independent anyway?

LDR anxiety

The problem with an LDR is that you're not physically close. If you wanted to, you could cheat on him in 20 minutes, especially if you're fairly good-looking and have plenty of options. The chance to cheat in person is just meters away, and chatting with another AFAM (foreign guy) is just one click away. Get it? Of course there can be worries and anxiety.

I have a feeling this is another one of those posts where OP never answers anyone's questions. Just spitballing

Of course it's common, because it happens all the time.

Providing after marriage

Huh? Providing is for when you're his wife; until then, only by mutual agreement. For example, my wife and I want to start a small business near where we live, and that's a decision we make together. But as girlfriend and boyfriend, what kind of providing do you want?
