My disappointing experience in the Philippines

The scams and the lying. The lack of accountability. Now imagine people who left their own country to give their kids a better life and avoid school shootings (not sure why they'd bring them here), only to bring them to a country where kids who shoot people walk free 🤦🏾‍♂️.

I thought America was a sitcom, but this place is its knockoff spin-off.

Even with all this daily inconvenience, there are still things to smile about here. Every once in a while you meet genuinely good people, but I've experienced that everywhere.

I feel for Filipinos, trapped in their own system.

And of course, because you're not glazing their country, you get downvoted and mocked. If you still want to travel, there are better countries, brother. It's no surprise tourism here is declining and expats are leaving. Heck, even the locals don't want to be here—the smart ones escape. The rest? Well, they'll be downvoting my comment soon enough. Welcome to the Philippines. Leave as soon as you can...

To be fair, the Philippines really is a spin-off of the sitcom that is America. I mean, even Filipinos themselves say Manila might as well be a GTA setting...
