Great customer service at SM Makati

Customer service may be dead in the US, but it's alive and kicking in the Philippines.

I broke a mirror in my Airbnb and wanted to replace it. It still had the SKU tag, so I found the exact model at SM. The glass was dirty, and the salesman insisted on cleaning it. There was a mark he didn't like, so he had new stock brought up from downstairs and cleaned that one too. While I paid, he and another employee wrapped it nicely and asked if I wanted help carrying it down.

They were helpful without being pushy, and it was a really pleasant experience. I usually don't ask for help in stores, but I think I'll change that.

Thanks for sharing some positivity. I went to McDonald's yesterday for a McFlurry, paid the friendly cashier, and then another friendly employee brought the ice cream to my table. It was a really pleasant experience!

Customer service is definitely not dead in the US. In my experience it's still better than here most of the time. Try getting a refund on something at SM.

Sarcastic tales

I went to 7-Eleven. The security guard opened the door for me. Another foreigner was there on a date with a teenager. My 17-year-old son said, “Gross, I go to school with her!” I bought a loaf of bread. The cashier put it in a paper bag and stapled it shut. The guard opened the door for me, and then both he and the cashier said, “See you every day!” That's how these posts go, right?

What's wrong with you people? Someone shares something positive and this is what you fixate on? Are you really that miserable? Thanks to those of you who were receptive.

OP, I don't see the need to open an otherwise positive post with a disparaging and plainly false statement about the US. Are you bitter at us here in the US because you can't afford to live here anymore?
