What kind of jobs can Westerners get?

As I start thinking about moving and living abroad, I'd like to hear from Westerners living in the Philippines now about what job opportunities there are for English speakers. I know most people go there to retire and enjoy life, but if I wanted to find work there, what kind of work would be available? I know most people there speak English, but is it commonly used in the workplace too, or do locals mostly speak Tagalog at work?

Obviously I don't expect to earn what I do here in the West. It's more about blending into the local community and society in general.

Foreign remote jobs. If you're a Westerner looking for an actual local job in the Philippines? Tough luck. Unless you have some very rare skill they don't have.

There are no jobs for you here. You either find an overseas job you can do remotely, or work for a company in another country and get transferred here. English is widely spoken, and nearly all office workers are fluent. If you find a local-style job, expect to work 6 days a week, 12 hours a day, for about 400 dollars a month with no benefits.

A bit of advice: if you need to work in the Philippines to live in the Philippines, don't move to the Philippines. The only work anyone should do here is remote, and I wouldn't even live here on a remote job. Either be retired or have enough money coming in or saved up that you don't need to rely on any job.

If you want a job in the Philippines, find it BEFORE you get here. The company I used to work for actually has a lot of jobs in the Philippines. They just weren't in my field.
