This is one of those cases where it went viral so they had to respond, but if nobody had seen it, nothing would have happened. And nothing will really come of the investigation either. No progress here.

Two years ago in Angeles, I nearly fell into a huge open pit on the 'sidewalk' while walking to SM. It wasn't raining or dark; it was just a big hole in the ground with no cones, barriers, or anything.

It's so bizarre: if a motorcycle runs into a truck, they'll charge the truck driver with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide even if he had no way of knowing the motorcycle was in front of him, in other words, innocent of any crime. Yet in a case like this, where real recklessness caused a death, nobody gets charged criminally. In most places in the world the family would get a big payout if this happened. Not here. Just deer-in-the-headlights responses. 🙂

The danger of a flood isn't the water itself, it's that you don't know what's under it or how deep it is, plus all the feces, debris, and garbage floating around.

This was horrific beyond words. I can't even imagine how foul it would be to go that way. He was a human being.
