I've lived here for over 8 years, and for the first time ever I'm going to the barangay captain with a problem. It affects both our house and the elementary school across from us.

Our power supplier made a complete mess of things and then sent us a disconnection warning. And that's after they couldn't even give us a bill last month because the meters were unreadable. Both of the new replacement meters are also showing higher usage, so I want them checked too.

The school is closed on Sundays, which is when they read the meters, so they hand the school's bill to us and ask us to pass it on.

Not sure what the barangay can do about this. Talk to your power supplier. Then put in solar if you can afford it. We did. Last month's bill was 176 pesos.

So sad. No electricity is a nuisance. No education is a disaster 😢

Just wondering, is it an actual reading or an estimate? A while back we got an estimated bill, and those always come out higher. But it gets adjusted on the next bill.

The whole barangay system is a joke. The thinking is so old-fashioned, like it's still the '70s. I don't blame you for trying. But most people only run for barangay posts to feel important, and they're mostly incompetent.

We had the same problem with our power meter. We even put in a transformer and a whole-house surge protector to stop the power spikes after brownouts. I put in a 16kWh solar system with two batteries, and now I'm pretty much off grid. It's so much better to just stop using the local grid.
