There's no guarantee it stays up. Even with fiber, the local distribution cabinets need power. If they're out, so is your internet. That said, when home internet dies you can almost always connect through a hotspot. I keep a dual-SIM hotspot phone with Globe and Smart for exactly that. Globe has occasionally dropped during a brownout, but I've never had both carriers go down at once.

Get Starlink and stop worrying. The internet here can be unreliable and slow.

What nature? The beaches full of plastic and trash? As for internet, I've never had a problem during BLACKOUTS. No idea why Filipinos call them brownouts. Sometimes it really is a brownout, but if the power's completely out, that's a BLACKOUT!

The Philippines is a third-world country. Expect frequent outages, roads full of potholes, and patchy internet. Most condos in IT Park and BGC have backup generators, but that doesn't guarantee the internet keeps working. If you live in a detached house, I'd look at Starlink and your own backup generator. Throw in some solar panels too if the budget allows. If you want a Southeast Asian country with solid internet, consider Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore. Anywhere but the Philippines. The poor infrastructure here has been going on for decades. The only way around it is to build your own.
