The Philippines 🇵🇭 and the lack of seasons

As my stay in the USA winds down… I'm reminded (every day) of the joy of 'seasons'…'chapters'…

The Midwest calendar is clearly divided:
Spring: baseball starts…gardens come alive, Easter….warmer days.
Summer: baseball, cookouts, beaches, long evenings, vacations.
Fall: football (college and NFL)..leaves changing..baseball playoffs…Halloween
Winter: NFL playoffs, snow, indoor life, basketball, Christmas

The USA has four distinct lifestyle seasons.
The Philippines 🇵🇭 has three psychological seasons: Hot…Rainy/typhoon….BER/Christmas.

I prefer the USA 'calendar.'
I appreciate the Philippine one too.

The Philippines 🇵🇭 has two chapters.

The four seasons in the Philippines are: Hot season, followed by very hot season. Then wet season, followed by very wet season. Typhoon season runs from July to December. Plus, lots of places have their own microclimate.

One of the things that drew me here was that the seasons aren't so obvious. Time goes by fast enough without quarterly reminders.

The US varies too

South Florida has the same seasons as the Philippines. Hot Hot and rainy Dec-Feb there might be a 'cold front' that brings the high down into the 70s for a day. But normally it's only about 3 degrees cooler.

Missing four seasons

I'm in the PNW, where the trees are about to turn red, orange and yellow for fall. Absolutely beautiful. And in winter everyone's skiing and snowboarding in the mountains. I could never give up the four seasons completely.
