Any green pea brands here that are fresh, bright, and not chewy and gross?

It seems crazy to me that they're frozen and still this low quality. Are there any good imported frozen brands?

I miss the peas I used to get back in Britain. Bright green, full of flavor, none of that cardboard taste and texture.

Kind of a silly post, but it was such a cheap, easy way to add nutrients to a meal, and I still haven't found a replacement.

I've lived here my whole life, and no. The really nice ones get sold off at export quality by big corporations. Whatever's left over goes to the masses. If you really want nice green peas, sorry, you either grow them yourself and pick them young, or give up on peas altogether.

Try mung beans

Try monggo beans sometime. Soak them in cold water for an hour or so, then simmer until cooked. They're a lot like mushy peas, great in soups and stews or just with potatoes.

Imported brands

Try the Emborg frozen peas from S&R. They're the least like little green bullets past their prime. Compared to regular PH peas they're very nice. Still not Birds Eye level, though, IMO.

Hard or mushy

Weird that yours are mushy, because all the ones I find are really hard, whether canned or in a little bag. The texture's just wrong.
