Thinking of quitting work for good soon and visiting. Are there any nice, quiet places with good beaches and maybe a little beach house to rent? Would I be better off in Thailand?

I'm not really into the party scene, nightlife or hooking up, or big cities with lots of people and traffic. I'd like to find a nice place on the beach to rent for maybe 3-6 months, somewhere quiet and peaceful with not too many people if possible. Nice beaches, maybe a few waves to surf, peace and quiet. Are there any places like that left?

There are provinces where rent is around 8k-15k pesos, 15 minutes from the beach

Zambales. You can surf a bit and rent a place by the beach. It's a quiet town.

Visit both and decide. Just know that Thailand and the Philippines are very different. The Philippines has the language and easy visas, but Thailand just makes life so easy and comfortable. Even something as simple as finding a good gym has been a struggle in the Philippines. In Thailand, on the other hand, I have yet to find a gym that isn't good - my worst gym in Thailand beats the best gym I went to in the Philippines.

Thai tourism is generally more developed, but for your taste you'd need to ask in the Thai subreddits for recommendations. *Assuming it isn't suffering right now because of geopolitics and a government that's just a circus at the moment. As for the Philippines, there are generally nice quiet beaches and even private islands. But you'll need to get around, mingle or ask locals, and even that is hit or miss. One warning if you're planning on beaches: avoid the monsoon season in whichever country, even more so in the Philippines or Japan.
