If you visit the Philippines once or twice a year, I recommend the GOMO SIM card.
Do you often visit the Philippines and find yourself buying and registering a new SIM card every time?
With GOMO, you won't have to do that anymore.
GOMO is a mobile brand from the Globe telecom group, and its biggest feature is data that never expires (No Expiry). Once you top up, your data doesn't disappear until you use it all. When you come back to the Philippines, you can simply use your remaining data as is.
15GB — ₱249 (approx. ₱6,000) — No expiry + 7 days of unlimited calls and texts
30GB — ₱449 (approx. ₱10,800) — No expiry + 7 days of unlimited calls and texts (eSIM)
For example, if you buy the 30GB plan, you can use 10GB this trip and then use the remaining 20GB on your next visit to the Philippines. This eliminates the hassle of buying and registering a new SIM card each time.
UNLI Data 7 days — ₱199 (approx. ₱4,800) — Unlimited data (calls/texts separate)
UNLI Data 7 days — ₱249 (approx. ₱6,000) — Unlimited data + calls/texts included
UNLI Data 30 days — ₱999 (approx. ₱24,000) — Unlimited data + calls/texts included
These might be more convenient for short trips, as you can use data without worry for 7 days.
Your SIM will remain active if you top up at least once within a year.
If you don't top up for over a year, your SIM may be deactivated. So, it's a good idea to top up even a small amount each time you visit the Philippines.
You can sign up with an eSIM instead of a physical SIM card.
eSIM allows for up to 4 free device changes.
You can pick up your eSIM at the airport, or purchase it in advance via the app from Korea.
If you visit monthly or stay for extended periods → DITO (25GB for ₱39, 9GB for ₱99 Level-Up)
If you visit once or twice a year → GOMO (No Expiry data carries over to your next visit)
Order through the GOMO app (Google Play/App Store)
Available for purchase at convenience stores and Globe stores
Passport registration is required for the SIM (Philippine law)

How to Get the Cheapest Data in the Philippines — The Complete DITO SIM Guide
Many people come to the Philippines and use Korean roaming services... Honestly, it's a waste of money.
If you buy a DITO SIM card at a convenience store, you can get up to 25GB for 39 pesos (approx. 940 KRW). You can use it for over a week here with the cost of one day of Korean roaming.
It's not just as simple as buying and inserting the SIM card; you can get up to 25GB by following three steps.
Step 1. SIM Activation → 6GB
Step 2. Install DITO App + Update Profile → Get an Additional 4GB
Step 3. Subscribe to a Level-Up Plan → Get Up to 15GB More
Adding it all up: 6 + 4 + 3 + 12 = up to 25GB, all with just one 39 peso SIM card.
If you use up your basic data, you can add a plan. These are also incredibly cheap:
If you only need a little bit of data, they also have a 1GB for 1 day option for ₱10 (approx. 240 KRW).
Let's compare for a 7-day period:
It's no comparison, right? You can use DITO for a month with the money you'd spend on one day of Korean roaming.
You can find them at any convenience store like 7-Eleven or Ministop. You can buy one right at the convenience store as soon as you exit Clark or Manila Airport. They are also sold at DITO stores, supermarkets, and gas stations.
After purchasing, you must register the SIM with your passport for internet access (required by Philippine law). You can complete the registration and plan subscription through the DITO app.
There's just one thing to be aware of. DITO's coverage is still weak in rural areas or on islands. You won't have any problems in places like Manila, Cebu, Clark, or Boracay, but if you're going to remote parts of Palawan or small islands, Globe or Smart might be a better option.
Also, sometimes older international phones may not be compatible. If you're concerned, you can check compatibility in advance through the DITO app.
However, for most travelers who stick to cities, DITO offers the best value for money.
