About this event

Rooted Threads, Threaded Roots is the third solo art exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Brenda Subido-Dacpano, who has built her creative practice mainly in the Baguio area. The exhibition will be presented to visitors on October 26, 2026, at Pugad ni Art Studio, an independent art space located at Sitio Atol in the Puguis village of La Trinidad. The exhibition is hosted by the artist, Brenda Subido-Dacpano, and highlights the jeepney, a symbol of everyday Filipino culture, and abel, a traditional hand-loom woven fabric.
The artist has carefully composed three-dimensional relief landscapes and small sculptural works by weaving metal parts from discarded vehicles, various scrap materials collected from daily life, and old electronic circuit boards together with the traditional fabric pattern inabel. The works deeply reflect on the traditional jeepneys, which are gradually disappearing due to the government's public transportation modernization policy, as well as the history, collective heritage, and value of craftsmanship embodied in the unique weaving techniques of ordinary people.
The exhibition takes place at Pugad ni Art Studio, an independent art exhibition space, and anyone who visits the venue is welcome to view the works. It is a meaningful cultural and artistic event where visitors can vividly encounter the region's cultural roots and the fascinating stories surrounding modes of transportation through art.
