What was it like finding, buying, and using your boat? Where do you fish? What gear do you use? What kind of boat? Most importantly, what kind of fish are you catching?
I know this isn't a fishing sub, but surely there are a few anglers here.
I'm interested in this too. I've looked around the Cebu area for a center console with twin outboards, and renting a slip seems like a hassle.
I've thought about it too, but these bums will steal anything nice that's left unattended. And in my opinion it's not even about being a foreigner. They just don't respect anyone else's property, period.

When it comes to buying things, remember the three Fs: if it flies, floats, or f*cks, it's cheaper to rent.
You might want to check out JMN Sport Fish Charters out of Siargao. Honestly, fishing in the Philippines is pretty disappointing. These waters have been overfished for decades, maybe centuries. If you want any real chance of catching fish, you'll need to go 30 nautical miles offshore, into either the Pacific or the China Sea.
